Which adhesive should I use with the Pro-Made Volume Fans?
Our Pro-Made fans are lightweight and are bonded with minimum adhesive at the base. Therefore, when you dip them into the adhesive, it would absorb a tiny amount of adhesive. We suggest you need to dip at least 1 second so the base will take enough adhesive.
Pro-Made fans are applied just like a Classic set (1:1) of eyelash extensions either above, below or side of the natural lash. Recommended adhesive: Fina Adhesive as it has a thinner consistency.
Retention with Pro-Made Volume Fans
For best retention, we would suggest you should apply the fan below or on the side of the natural lash
Why apply the fan below or on the side of the natural lash?
– This maximizes the contact points between the natural lashes and your Pro-Made fans
– Wrap the natural lashes better and lift them, even the most stubborn lashes to create a good bonding structure.
What are the Pros and Cons of Pro-Made and Pre-Made lashes?
Pro-Made Volume Fans
Pro-Made volume fans like ours, are entirely made by hand. This means increased uniformity and precision with each fan. Purchasing Pro-Made lashes can save you time and energy, which you can spend booking more clients or growing your business. Every one of these Pro-Made fans is handcrafted as you would yourself. With a wider fan and thinner bases, it will give you greater even lash coverage and cut down your application time.
Pre-Made Volume Fans
Pre-made fans come ready to be dipped in adhesive and placed on a client’s lash. Pre-made fans, on the other hand, don’t provide as much flexibility to adapt to different lash textures, lengths, or strengths. Due to the flat bases, pre-made fans do not wrap the natural lash and tend to pop off and also stick to the corresponding lashes.
Additionally, the artist doesn’t have control over the amount of adhesive already on the fan, meaning there may be added weight due to having to dip the volume fan a second time. Without careful calibration on the part of the artist, the result could be a higher likelihood of lashes falling out due to a weak bond.
Let’s face it – Handmaking fans is time-consuming and takes skill, concertation, and practice to master the technique. If you are needing to get through clients quickly, handmade volume fans could take up time you don’t have. Handmaking fans, on the other hand, allow you to have full control of the lashing process from start to finish. You are able to create a volume fan that is the right length, diameter, and weight for your client which will create amazing results.
Ultimately, the choice between Handmade, Pro-Made, and Pre-made comes down to the preference of the artist and what works best for you and your skill level. Many lash technicians enjoy using a mixture of Pro-Made and handmade volume fans based on the look their client wants to achieve as well as basing it on how full their natural eyelashes are.
For lash artists who are only just starting on their Volume Lash Training journey, pro-made fans are an excellent way to bridge the gap between classic and handmade volume. Handmade fans are still a unique way for volume artists to go the extra mile in customizing clients’ needs, especially in terms of the number and length of extensions. Learning proper volume pick-up techniques and good adhesive control will set lash artist’s up to create handmade fans that are customised to the client’s lash health, eye shape and desired look. This allows the artist more control over the lashing process in terms of creating a bespoke look to suit each client’s natural lashes. Enquire about our Volume Training here.
